• The Review
There were a lot of good things to talk about in Friday’s annual spring football game. Obviously, the defense was one of them. However, the offense proved they were capable of staying in the game and fighting as they clawed back with a resilient effort in the second half. In the end, the defense put too much pressure on the quarterback and limited yardage gains on first down, which put the offense in entirely too many 3rd & long situations.

Some individuals that stood out on the offense include RB Ski Spencer, WR Noreco English, QB Milton Daniels, RB Adrian Oliver, OL Colton Bodine, WR P.J. Morris, RB Jaylon Kennedy & QB Guy Kennedy.

On the defensive side, DB Josh Winfield supplied the hit of the night in the second half, DL Dwight “Fat” Kennedy was everywhere, LB Matavious Morris will be one to keep an eye on this season, LB Keilion Scott, DB Justin Pendleton, DL Brennan Gibson and DB L.B. Williams.

• Chris Gilbert quotes
“I was very pleased with the defense, I think overall the kids competed well and it gives us a starting point, something to build on.”

“The kids know the base offense and defense. There were some bright spots out there and some spots that need improvement. Obviously most of those will be on the offensive side of the football.”

• The Bottom Line
The defense will carry this team with strong units in the front seven and secondary. The defense will keep Terrell in most games. How far this team will go will rest on the ability of the offense. How fast can they grasp the new system? Who will emerge on the offensive line? Which quarterback will establish himself as the starter? These are all questions that will probably not be decided until the end of August, but that should make for an interesting summer.
