Lady Tigers seeking momentum

The Terrell Lady Tigers will be looking to keep their winning streak alive Tuesday when they travel to Lancaster for a District 15-4A contest beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Terrell (21-7, 4-3) has won its last two matches and three of its last four. The Lady Tigers are a half game behind Forney for third place. Lancaster (11-21-1, 1-7) is currently sixth in the district standings.

Terrell won the first meeting with Lancaster back on Sept. 18 at the TISD Athletic Complex. The Lady Tigers swept Lancaster in three games, 25-23, 26-24, 25-6.

A win for Terrell would give the girls some much-needed momentum as they head into Friday’s road contest against first-place Red Oak.

The Lady Hawks (30-4, 8-0) clinched a playoff berth Friday with a three-game sweep of Mabank. Red Oak is currently ranked No. 5 in Class 4A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association and is unbeaten (22-0) in District 15-4A matches dating back to last season.

Tuesday’s meeting will begin with the freshman and junior varsity matches with the varsity following immediately after.
The varsity will play first Friday in Red Oak with a start time of 5:30 p.m.
